Mykola Tomenko: The President's Administration denies the Fact that Viktor Yanukovych awarded Sunday Adelaja
Mykola Tomenko the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine announced that he had received an answer to his appeal to Viktor Yanukovych regarding the situation on awarding by the President of Ukraine of the religion men, in particular it concerned Sunday Adelaja who is not a resident of Ukraine after the results of the presidential campaign.
Recently there have been a lot of new in mass media regarding the active participation of religion organizations, in particular those headed by the foreign citizens in the presidential campaign. Thus, recently a lot of mass media reported on the awarding of the of gratitude certificates on behalf of the President of Ukraine "for the active participation in the presidential campaign 2010" to the leaders and ministers of religious worships. According to the mass media information, the gratitude certificates were presented by V. Shushkevych, the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the third convocation and Head of the Ecclesiastical Council of Ukraine.
The special attention was paid to the fact that according to the published video recording, among the rewarded there is a leader of the religious organization "The Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations" (Kyiv city) Sunday Adelaja, who is a citizen of Nigeria.
Taking into the consideration the social resonance and ambiguity of such events, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine directed the appeal to the President of Ukraine with the request to specify whether the awarding of the indicated above person really took place for the "assistance in conduction of the presidential campaign 2010" and if the fact is true, explain on what legal basis the following decision was adopted.
Though, in the response received by the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from S. Liovochkin, the Chairman of the Administration of the President it was indicated that V. Yanukovych is grateful to all the citizens taking part in the voting though he had not resolves to award any foreign citizens after the results of the elections, Sunday Adelaja in particular.
